Project Description: The programme will encourage the development and refinement of the existing technologies and practices with the intent of modifying them to suit the farmers' conditions and promote them for adoption. In order to facilitate realization of this aspiration, the Ministry of Agriculture is engaging various cooperating partners in designing, initiating and implementing various investment programmes and interventions. SAPP is one development programme designed and aligned to ASWAp to achieve rapid results with visible and tangible beneficiary impacts. Main Goal/Objective: The Programme goal is to contribute to poverty reduction and improved food security among the rural population. The specific development objective is to achieve a viable and sustainable smallholder agricultural sector employing good agricultural practices (GAPs). The program’s main emphasis is to enhance agricultural productivity based on simple, affordable GAPs to help bridge the considerable disparity between actual and potential crop yields. |
