National Agrifood Systems Investment Symposium Set for 24 September 2026
The Ministry of Agriculture is set to host the National Agrifood Systems Investment Symposium on 24 September 2026, bringing together key government institutions and stakeholders to promote investment and partnerships across Malawi's agrifood systems.
The symposium is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen investment in agriculture and accelerate the transformation of Malawi's agrifood sector. It will provide a platform for stakeholders to engage on investment opportunities, partnerships and initiatives aimed at supporting agricultural commercialisation and sustainable economic development.
The Ministry of Agriculture will highlight investment opportunities within the agricultural sector, including agricultural transformation and commercialisation, food security, irrigation development and livestock development.
The National Planning Commission (NPC) will contribute to the alignment of investment initiatives with Malawi's long-term national development priorities, including the aspirations of Malawi 2063.
The Ministry of Industrialisation, Business, Trade and Tourism will bring its focus on industrialisation, trade, business development and creating an enabling environment for investment and private-sector participation.
The Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC) will support the investment agenda through its mandate to promote Malawi as an investment and trade destination and to facilitate engagement with potential investors.
The symposium will provide an opportunity for government institutions, investors, development partners, private-sector actors and other stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration and investment across the agrifood value chain.
The Ministry continues to encourage partnerships that can contribute to increased agricultural productivity, value addition, market development, job creation and broader economic transformation.
More information on the Investment Forum, including registration and delegate management, investment opportunities and the event programme, is available through the Ministry's Investment Forum section.
